The job

As the Berner Group is a matrix organization you will report to the Finance Manager. Your responsibilities include tasks such as:

  • Bookkeeping and month-end closing in Danish GAAP and translation to German GAAP
  • Full operational responsibility for accounts payable and general ledger and back-up for accounts receivable
  • Ensure compliance with financial standards and criteria
  • Responsibility for year-end closing, including communication to the Berner Group and to the external auditors
  • Handle tax declarations and correct VAT processing
  • Optimization of processes and cost management
  • Close co-operation with colleagues in the Head Office in Germany and throughout the Scandinavian region
  • Flexibility to adapt and thrive in a constantly developing environment

Who are you?

You have a solid education in accounting and several years of work experience in similar roles. You have either already worked with other business finance topics such as cash flow forecasting, tax calculations, etc. or are ready to take on the challenge. You are fluent in Danish and English at a business level, both written and spoken, and you have experience in working with SAP.

As a person, you are used to working in a structured way, and you like to get the details right and generally keep track of all matters within your area of responsibility. It is an advantage if you have already worked in an international company, so you are used to meeting deadlines at group level and adapting group guidelines to local conditions. You can communicate as effectively with management as with other colleagues, and you are approachable and seek sustainable solutions.
